Officer Tse chases some bank robbers to a construction site, after a fight he is badly injured and left for dead. As he is dying under a pile of debris he makes a wish that he will survive long enough to see his son born and to stop the bank robbers. As night comes to pass something strange happens and his body is struck by lightning. Tse later wakes up unsure of what has happened and goes home to his wife. It is not long till Tse discovers the gory truth, his wounds wont heal and he no longer feels pain. He tries to hide his nature from everyone not sure what to do next.

Taoist Master Chin (Chung Faat) is always competing with his devious brother, Master Wu. When a powerful local man asks them to transport a body to its final resting place, Chin is given the job, and Wu sets out to sabotage his efforts. On the way, Chin and his assistant meet a grave robber (Chin Siu Ho) who has accidentally reanimated the body of a dead girl (Pauline Wong). Deciding to stay overnight in a hotel, they smuggle the vampire and dead girl inside, only to find out that the girl’s lover, a local Policeman, is staying there. He is in mourning, drunk, and certainly wouldn’t be happy to find his dead concubine walking around, or to bump into the hungry vampire hidden upstairs.

An archaeological dig uncovers a ‘Gateway to Hell’ and frees Ashura: the Virgin of Hell, and Raga: Hell’s Witch. When the archaeologists attack these two strange women they are all killed by their demonic powers. Ashura and Raga plan to open up further ‘Gates’ in order to free the King of Hell. A playful Tibetan monk called Peacock is told by his master that he must travel to Japan to stop another ‘Gateway to Hell’ from opening. When he gets there Peacock meets Lucky Fruit, a Japanese monk who is also trying to stop the Gate from being opened. Although they immediately dislike each other, Peacock and Lucky Fruit find that they must work together to try and stop the King of Hell from being let loose and destroying the Earth.
