The solitary and largely self-contained Augustin, an obscure young actor of bits-parts and advertisements, has only one ambition, to play the lead role in a kung fu movie. But only watching kung fu movies and a couple of hours of Kung fu practice alone in his room are not enough to become a kung fu star. Augustin knows that he must pack up and start a new life where all the roots of kung fu come from, in China. But because of a limited budget he decides that Chinatown in south-east Paris will probably do the same. After subscribing to a kung fu school, Augustin has to face another problem again, his morbid fear of physical contacts prevent him from having proper kung fu training. He will then be referred to Ling, a young Chinese doctor who practices acupuncture, and little by little, Ling's needles awaken emotions in Augustin that his virginal body has never dreamed of.
