The Emperor and his sister the Princess plan to flee the palace but as usual the Queen Mother discovers their attempt and takes action. The princess managed to escape while the guards went after the emperor. The Princess (who is dressed like a man) gets robbed by a pick-pocket but by a chance encounter she meets Ah Long who invites him/her to dinner. Ah Long has a reputation for being the town bully and thus no one wishes to marry his sister, Ah Long's ulterior purpose of inviting this gentleman to dinner is to find his sister a husband. Ah Long's sister is quickly charmed by this stranger and seeks to have him as her husband. The Emperor receives permission from the Queen Mother to go look for his sister. He encounters Ah Long's sister while Ah Long and the Princess is on their way to the Palace. The Emperor falls in love with Ah Long's sister and decides to live with her at the inn she runs. And thus this is how a complicated love triangle begins.

This is an urban love story based on a short novel named Adiliya by the River by Jin Renshun. Wu Fang (Vicki Zhao) is a master's degree student in university, she always blind dates with different men. During each date, she orders a cup of green tea and tells the story about another close friend named Langlang. Wu Fang and Langlang believe that green tea can forecast a person’s love. Chen Ming-liang (Jiang Wen), an experienced man, falls in love with Wu Fang. But later he meets Langlang, a piano player in the bar, who has the same face of Wu Fang but with an absolutely different character. That makes Chen fell into great confusion.
